HoloDoor v1.01 (C)Copyright 1991 Kent Timm
PassKey System (C)Copyright 1989,90,91 Kent Timm
What does HoloDoor do? Many doors mistake AVATAR being on
as the user being in ASCII only mode. Holo-Door is used to
convert DORINFO1.DEF so that AVATAR is disabled before
loading a door, and so the user doesn't have to turn AVATAR
on and off all the time.
PassKey is the registeration system that was first designed
for RaCall(C), a modified version is used in HoloDoor.
Note: RaCall and HoloDoor PassKeys are not interchangeable.
LEGAL STUFF
===========
HoloDoor is made available "as-is" and come with no warranty.
You are required to Register HoloDoor after a 21 trial.
You MUST Register HoloDoor if you use it beyond the 21
day trial. If you do not Register after 21 days, you are
required to stop using HoloDoor in any way.
** HoloDoor comes with no warranty of any kind, no
responsibility or liability is taken for HoloDoor's use or it
actions.
(they should make a rubber stamp for docs saying that..:-)
** HoloDoor is released compressed with LHA 2.12, please
do not re-compress this package with any other packer, nor
add extra files or comments to the package or text files.
** HoloDoor is NOT to be placed on any Media for sale,
including, but not limited to CD-ROMs, tape drive, or disk by
software distribution services/companies or anyone else
without written permission and license from the author.
No fee may be charged for HoloDoor in any way, except by the
author, Kent Timm.
REGISTERING HoloDoor
--------------------
To Register HoloDoor, simply send your request form in
along with $5 to register it. You will be sent a PassKey
to be used. Once the PassKey is in place you'll be able to
use the two bonus options (details later in this text)
I don't think $5 is much to ask for considering the
countless hours I've spent fine tuning this program. And the
post office will be taking it's share...
(and I got to pay for getting the [bleep] hard drive replaced)
To fill-out and print a registeration form run:
HOLODOOR /FORM
or use ORDER.FRM included in this package.
Please use the /FORM option in HoloDoor if you can, that way
it will read the BBS Name and SysOp Name directly from the
Config.Ra preventing spelling/case errors.
Send your request to Register to:
Kent TIMM
907-1790 Eglinton Av. East
Toronto, Ontario
M4A 2T3
Please use a *postal money order*. I can't accept checks since
the bank charges would be more then the $5! Money orders should be
drafted in Canadian dollars. Money Orders can be obtained from
*any* post office. (please, no bank money orders, the service charges
are unreal to cash a bank money order).
Outside of Canada or the USA send cash, REGISTERED-MAIL is
highly recommended! (at the very least use an envelope nobody
can see through)
Either U.S. or Canadian funds will be fine, whatever is easier
for you to get in your area.
How to Use HoloDoor:
--------------------
I'm going to keep this simple and to the point.
HoloDoor has no configuration files. It does need the RA
environment to be set (see RA's Docs for details on that).
Run as:
HOLODOOR.EXE [<PassKey>]
Result: >before: >after:
ASCII only ASCII only
ANSI " ANSI "
AVATAR " ASCII "
ANSI & AVATAR ANSI "
How's that for simple!
But that not the end of it, if you register HoloDoor, you'll
get three more operation modes, these are bonuses for
registering, a way of giving you more control of what
HoloDoor does in return for you helping to support my
efforts. Do NOT put the "<" ">" around the PassKey, they're
just there for display in this text.
You can also use the set command so you don't have to have the
PassKey on every command line.
example: set HOLOD=PassKey
Replace the word PassKey with the PassKey you are sent.
Run as: HOLODOOR.EXE <PassKey> /ansi
^^^^--MUST be lower case
This will convert all but ASCII only to ANSI.
Result: >before: >after:
ASCII only ASCII
ANSI " ANSI
AVATAR " ANSI (normally ASCII)
ANSI & AVATAR ANSI
Run as: HOLODOOR.EXE <PassKey> /ANSI
^^^^--MUST be UPPER CASE
This will always convert to ANSI mode.
Result: >before: >after:
ASCII only ANSI
ANSI " ANSI
AVATAR " ANSI
ANSI & AVATAR ANSI
Run as: HOLODOOR.EXE <PassKey> /ASCII
^^^^^--MUST be UPPER CASE
The will always convert to ASCII mode.
Result: >before: >after:
ASCII only ASCII
ANSI " ASCII
AVATAR " ASCII
ANSI & AVATAR ASCII

Please Note: At this time there is no phone number for my system,
(couldn't keep up with the phone bill, and the hard-drive fried),
please route NetMail to my thru 1:250/701.
You can put this in you control files to handle the routing.
Eg: Binkley/oMMM route : StuffCM 1:250/701 1:250/728
FrontDoor Route.ctl: route 1:250/701 1:250/728
